UASEDS will be going to the LBT the first weekend of May (either that Saturday or Sunday)

General Meeting 3/1/10

Tours for NASA centers, X-Core, and Masten Space Flight have been confirmed for the California trip
UASEDS will probably go to Griffith Observatory or JPL, depending on what we can do on Wednesday
There are 17 UASEDS members that are going on the California trip and 5 cars, with drivers being able to select a co-drivr
At 6 pm on Wednesday, Kyle will send an email for members to pick a car they would like to be in
There is an UASEDS Game Night on Friday at 7 pm that will partnered with FUN Club
UASEDS will follow up on the machine shop class for members that were interested in holding
For the UASEDS members that are volunteering for NOAO event at 6pm on March 6th, there will be a meeting on Thursday night to let the volunteers know what they are expected to do for the event
UASEDS will being volunteering for the Flandrau event on Wednesday, March 3, around 6pm and ending around 10pm
UASEDS will be bringing out their telescope
For those members that are really interested in volunteering for all of Flandrau's event, ones that UASEDS normally doesn't go to, email to Kyle so he can give your names to the director of Flandrau
UASEDS will be volunteering at a Star Show for Flandrau, tomorrow. March 2, leaving around 9:15 am to go to the Guest Range
UASEDS and LPL are hosting Yuri's Night
UASEDS members that are interested in helping are to email Kyle
UASEDS is allowed to sale food at Yuri's Night, so members are encourage to email Kyle with any ideas that they might have
Kyle will arrange a tour at AZ-LIVE
UASEDS can be part of a project that gives a presentation to high schools as to why they should care about space
UASEDS members can sign up to volunteer at www.wewantourfuture.org if they are interested in this out-reach
UASEDS will either pay for the admission of members if they are attending ISDC 2010, or for their food if they are volunteering
UASEDS members are responsible for getting themselves to conferences if they are interested in going to any over summer, with UASEDS helping with a small part of the cost

General Meeting 2/22/10

UASEDS had their members, who are going on the California Trip, filled out a paper for some of the NASA tours
The drivers for the trip are Kyle, Bythe, Nathan, Pye Pye, and Triana
Each driver will pick a co-driver for their car
Members are to meet in parking lot of Steward at 8 am on Saturday, March 13th, and are asked to bring sleeping bag, warm clothes, close toe shoes, snacks, swim suit, and money
UASEDS will be coming back by Wednesday, March 17th, around 5 pm
UASEDS will pay for the hotel and ask that one person from each car pay for gas that will be reimburse later
NOAO is holding an event on Mar 6th after 6pm that UASEDS members can volunteer at
Members are to email Kyle if they are interested in volunteering for more information
There will be a Game night on March 5th
The Kartchner/Tombstone trip will happen after spring break

The Kartchner Cavern and Tombstone trip will be moved to be after Spring Break
For the UASEDS California trip, Pye Pye's house is only able to house 10 people, AMES tour is confirmed, and 19 people are going on the trip
UASEDS needs to ask people to speak at Yuri's Night, Apr 10th, since we're planning on having at least 3 lectures that night
There will be a UASEDS Game Night on March 5
UASEDS will attached a specific out-reach duty to one of the positions before the next elections take place

General Meeting 2/15/10

For the UASEDS California trip, we will be leaving on Mar 13th at 8 am and will be returning on Thursday 3 or 5 pm
The fee is $40, and extra $11 if members are interested in a Star Trek exhibit

Kevin will finalize the plan for the California Spring Break trip
Kyle will talk to Josh & Chris Lewicki about contacts for the California trip
UASEDS will be going to Kartchner Caverns and Tombstone by end of February
Kevin will see how much are the tickets for gun show for Tombstone and the cost for Kartchner
There will be an email sent out to confirm who is going on the Tombstone and Kartchner trip
Kevin will contact the glass blowing people who will be making our bell jar
Bythe has keys and is on the credit account
Kyle will see if there is a club card to SamClub that UASEDS already owns
For UASEDS club meetings, we will try to get talks on the Rockoon project on the progress from the members, the Hamradio club, on recent space news/events, and volunteered student presentations
Kyle will see if we can get someone from Paragon to talk at one of the UASEDS meetings
UASEDS will plan for a Mirror Lab tour around April before LBT trip
Kyle will talk about Yuri's Night next meeting
Kyle is looking for ideas for the event, to have a group form a committee
LPL might help us with Yuri's Night
The main focus for Yuri's Night will be out-reach with a few lectures
LPL is hosting a Brown Lunch Bag for the OSIRIS-REx mission on Feb 26 from 12-1:30pm
Other small trips that UASEDS can take are to the IMAX in Phoenix and the Science Center in Phoenix

UASEDS members that are interested in getting involve with OSIRIS-REx will be meeting at 5 pm on Tuesday
The $250 Award money will go towards purchasing a Bell Jar (Rockoon(), Bell Jar(16), LEGO mindstorms(14), Gas Money(4))
There is an Arizona rocket launch happening soon around late Feb that UASEDS member can go to either see rockets or launch their own rocket
UASEDS will take small trips to the MMT, LBT, and Kartchner/Tombstone (PIMA(5);TITAN(12);Kartchner/Tombstone(will go at some point);MMT(try to go))
Kyle mentioned the 2011 budget plan that involves NASA and space policy

General Meeting 1/25/10

At the beginning of the meeting, all UASEDS members and officers introduced themselves to each other
The possible short UASEDS trips are Titan Missile Museum, PIMA Air and Space Museum, Large Binocular Telescope, Raytheon, Kartchner Caverns, a camping night with the telescope, and Colossal Caves
UASEDS members also have the opportunity to have observing runs at a few of the telescopes around Tucson
UASEDS members that are interested in these observing runs must submit a proposal
Contact Kevin (kevinkhu at email.arizona.edu) if you are interested in writing a proposal
The UASEDS big trip for the semester is a road trip around California, hitting sites like Vanden Air Force Base, Edward Air Force Base, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA Ames Research Center, SpaceX, Scaled Composites, Masten Space Systems, Palomar Observatory, San Jose Tech Museum, and other sites around the San Francisco area
If UASEDS members know of any other places to go around California, please email Kevin
We will be leaving on Saturday, March 13, returning on either Wed or Thursday
The Ca trip will be a mixture of camping and hotel
The special Treasurer election will take place next meeting, Monday Feb 1
If UASEDS members are interested in such a position, please read over the constitution or Kyle's presentation for the duties of the Treasurer and condition to run for a position before emailing Triana (thenz at email.arizona.edu) with your intent and platform by 5pm on Friday (Jan 29th)
The Treasurer term will only last for the semester
At SpaceVision 2009, UASEDS won from ISU/AAS a $250 Diversity Award that we would like UASEDS members to propose ideas on how to use it affectively

UASEDS will have a picnic lunch with the Astronomy Club on Saturday, Jan 30th from 11am-1pm at Reid Park
If UASEDS members are attending, please bring an item/food
Flandrau is having an event this Friday at 6:30-10pm that UASEDS members can help with operating the UASEDS Telescope
UASEDS members that are going to volunteer need to meet at the SEDS office
UASEDS was asked to help gauged student interest/create a group of students for the student-base project part of the OSIRIS-REx mission, one of three finalists in the New Frontiers program
If UASEDS members are interested in being part of the group of students for this mission, please email Kyle
UASEDS need about 7 volunteers for the Arizona Meteorite Exhibition Sat, Jan 30th from 5:45-9pm in LPL
If UASEDS members are interested in taking the Machine Shop course, please email Kyle (about 8 students need to be interested in order for the class to take place)
UASEDS Office Hours will be posted on the door of the office and online
UASEDS will arrange for members to be Flandrau volunteers, which will allow you to help out more directly with out-reach events by Flandrau and operate their 16 inch telescope that is open to the public
UASEDS dues are $10 for the semester
UASEDS have two Snack Stores, located in LPL and the office
UASEDS is looking for a member who is willing to maintain both stores, which requires the member to have a vehicle and a Sam's Club card or Costco card

Members of the Rockoon project may be able to receive class credit for the project

officer 1/20/10

Officer hours have been decided for the President, Communication, Trip coordinator, and Technology officer
There is a Club Fair tomorrow that UASEDS will be at from 9:30 am to 2pm
Pye Pye isn't the Treasurer so Kyle will announce the special elections for that position
UASEDS members will submit ideas on how to use the ISU money we were awarded at SpaceVision
The UASEDS Snack Stores need to have someone that will be able to maintain them throughout the semester
The UASEDS Snack Store in the office will be restock and have new items
UASEDS will be helping with the Flandrau event on Jan 29th
Kyle will talk to Mike T about getting more SEDS members to be telescope operators
Rockoon Project members are working on getting class credit for the work they have put into the project
The launch for the Rockoon is scheduled to happen in Aug
Money that the Engineering Student Council might be giving UASEDS will be put towards the Rockoon project
The UASEDS Officers think that the UASEDS representation at the Engineering Student Council should be part of the National Rep position in the future
UASEDS members are asked to help with Arizona Meteorite Exhibition on March 30th from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
The first UASEDS meeting will be held in Steward N305 at 4 pm on Mondays
At the first UASEDS meeting, there will be free pizza and a short presentation on what is happening in space
Kyle hopes that there will be a possible UASEDS involvement in the ASCEND project
OSIRIS-REX is looking for student-base component for the mission
UASEDS members will come up with a list of what experiments or actions we would like to do for the OSIRIS-REX mission
UASEDS will visit the LBT in April
UASEDS will be holding a picnic at a local park on Jan 30th around noon
UASEDS will also be taking a trip in Feb, with the place to be announced
Triana will make a list of local space conferences that are coming up during this semester and summer that SEDS members can attend
UASEDS will help in some way for the people that are interested in going to ISDC 2010 in Chicago

Officer Meeting 12/6/09

Kyle will ask the people that awarded us the $250 at SpaceVision what they want us to use the money for
The $250 can go towards the California trip, rocket team, telescope project
UASEDS will put the options to a vote for members at the beginning of the semester
UASEDS will look at PIMA and UA campus to hold an event for Yuri's night
UASEDS will talk to other chapters for ideas if we can't come up with our own
UASEDS will hold the even on Saturday
UASEDS will invite other organizations to Yuri's Night to do fun activities for the event
Kevin will map out two kinds of trips for the California trip, one being for the whole week of the Spring Break and the other being for the beginning of half of Spring Break
UASEDS will look into reserving the beach camp in California
Other smaller trips that members will be able to go on are LBT and Pima or Titan
UASEDS will plan to build a smaller telescope, similar to the one that they already built
UASEDS will get funding by either Space Grant or sponsors
The first fundraiser will be percentage night in the second week of the semester
Wednesday morning (Dec 9th), UASEDS will plan to watch the launch of the WISE telescope at 6:30 am at Steward
There will be a Game Night on Wednesday (Dec 9th) at 7 pm
UASEDS will seek out Outreach opportunities
Space Grant would like UASEDS to work with Dark Sky Association
UA SEDS National is holding a competition for holiday decorating the SEDS offices that will end Jan 1st
For next semester; there will be a questionnaire for where members want to go to for the smaller trips;
UASEDS officers will push for more members to give presentations on various topics
UASEDS officers will meet before school starts to plan out when the officer meetings will be, general meeting, and office hours
The back room in the SEDS office will start to be cleared for more desk space
UASEDS will post a listing of the books they have in the back room
UASEDS is be presented at the engineering student council by one of the rocket members

The possible trips that UASEDS can go on for this semester are Kitt Peak, Oct 10th; Mirror Lab, after SpaceVision; and a possible NASA engineering launch in New Mexico, Oct 17th

UASEDS will try to bring the telescope to the Youth Camp

The Biosphere 2 trip will take place this Saturday, Sept 25, at 8 am and will be returning around 2 pm
Dues paying members need to pay $10 for the trip.
Pye Pye gave a presentation about altering images to make them 3D, using the Apollo images as her examples
Kevin gave a presentation about how HIRISE does their 3D imaging
If any members would like to give out presentations at meetings, they would need to talk to Kyle about scheduling it in.
There will be a SpaceVision meeting this Sunday at noon in the SEDS office

Officer Meeting 3/30/09

Mike is going to take his fridge when he graduates
UASEDS will start looking for another fridge when he does

Amendments that will need to be added to the constitution are:
the academic standing for basic members; an alumni clause; and status of student
LBT trip will be on Apr 25th
An HOV will be taken and $10 will be charged to members that are going on the trip
Kyle will talk to Susan about the car situation for both the LBT trip and the New Mexico trip

General Meeting Minutes - 3/26/09

UASEDS members need to pay for the New Mexico trip by the end of this meeting
UASEDS t-shirts will be sold at $10
On Apr 25th, there will be a trip to the LBT that will cost members either $5-$10
Trip Coordinator will need SID for the trips that will come, but especially for the New Mexico
The Girl Scout event will take place on Saturday from 6pm-8:30pm
If members are able to volunteer, some come to the office before hand
There will be a Game Night on Apr 10

Officer Meeting 3/23/09

There are currently 19 people that want to go on the New Mexico trip
People can leave later if they need to
There is a possibility that we will need to rent a car
Members that want to go on the trip will need to pay by the general meeting March 26th.
For the Girl Scout event, we will need to get a firm count of how many members are willing to volunteer
We need for the Girl Scout event tape, paper, playdough, straws, and a classroom
There is a rocket launch called Desert Heat happening March 28th that will be told to mainly rocket project members
The LBT tour will take place Apr 25th
Officers will decide a time for meeting up and will rent an HOV for the trip
Elections will take place on the last meeting of Apr

General Meeting Minutes - 3/12/09

The winners for the iPod raffle are Emily for the iPod, Jasmine and Katie for the $15 iTunes giftcards
The UASEDS T-shirts will be black and request for sizes will be asked after spring break
Vote: to see if we need if we should talk about the changes to the constitution at this meeting or not (10 yes, 2 no[gets voted on now])

There will be lots of activities and telescope viewing at this event

The Messier Marathon is on Mar 28th from 4 pm to sunrise
Coleen is having an educational out-reach program this summer around the beginning of August
Coleen is looking for people for help over the with this program, which is about a week long

General Meeting Minutes - 3/5/09

Since Flandrau is shutting down, we're volunteering our time with events
There is a Flandrau telescope orientation training will take place Monday and Tuesday March 9th and March 10th
UASEDS will use our telescope this weekend for Moon, Venus, and Saturn at 5:30pm
UASEDS memebers are to meet in the SEDS office before hand
For the VLA trip, please give your name, SID and if you can drive in an email to Kevin or Kyle
For the LBT trip, it will be on a Saturday in April
During Spring Break Kyle will be fixing the UASEDS telescope
Please let Kyle know if you want to help
The Space Access conference is the same weekend as VLA trip and UASEDS will pay for conference admission
Mike was seeing if members were interested in an upgrade for the computers, but there was no interest
The goal for the raffle is $300 so that the prize can be an iTouch

Officer Meeting Minutes 3/2/09

For the New Mexico trip, officers figured out the cost so we could pay for the same amount for Space Access
The New Mexico trip is about 900 mile trip
There will be a $25 is the charge for the trip
Astronomy will work out their own details for the trip
UASEDS will pay entrance fee for Space Access
To have a tour of Biosphere2 there is a $25 per person charge
Kevin will look into getting a better deal for a tour
An LBT trip will be on a Saturday in April
During Spring Break there will be telescope fixing
Kyle will make a list of things to buy
The SEDS Planetary podcast needs to be finished filming by mid May,
The official launching of these podcast will be in August

General Meeting Minutes - 2/5/09

UASEDS is going to have a room change since the projector isn't there

There is a Mirror lab tour on Friday, Feb 6, at 3:50pm
Memebers are to meet on the East side of football stadium and wear closed toe shoe
SEDS National is creating a Podcast about the Solar System
UASEDS is volunteering to film the podcast once the script is done
The podcast should be completely done by March 1
There is an Engineering club fair on Feb 16 from 11:30am -2:30pm, contact Triana if you can watch the booth between those times
UASEDS is holding a raffle for different kinds of iPods this month
The iPods (nano, 8G iTouch, or other) will vary depending on the amount of tickets that are sold and the 2nd and 3rd place winners will get $15 gift cards
If members are interested in selling the tickets, please contact Pye Pye to be on that list
The UASEDS telescope repair day is next Saturday in the SEDS office
There is a rocket launch event on Feb 22-23 in Phoenix

Officer Meeting Minutes 2/2/09

The UASEDS fundraiser flyers will be place in a few buildings that give us permission to hang the flyers
The prize for selling less than 200 tickets is a 4th generation nano
The prize for selling more than 300 tickets is a 8G itouch
The prize for selling more than 500 tickets is the winner's choose
The tickets are $1, but people can get 6 tickets for $5
UASEDS is going start selling the tickets next Monday
If UASEDS members sales 5 tickets, they get a free ticket for themselves
Another prize will be iTune gift card that are worth $15 dollars for the 2nd and 3rd place winners
Kyle will talk to people at VLA and/or Sunspot for the New Mexico trip so that the Trinity Site isn't the main attraction to go to
For the Engineering Club fair, UASEDS won't bring the 18" telescope, but other telescopes are okay (maybe)
The 18" telescope needs repairs and the meeting for these repairs will take place next Saturday (Feb 14)
There will be a new piece of fabric to extend the shod so that the secondary mirror cage is covered as well
New duck tape will be purchased at Costco
UASEDS officers will ask dues paying members if they are interested in participating in the "Rock On" rocket camp during the summer
In March, UASEDS will take out our 18" telescope for a local gathering of all the girl scout troops in Tucson for their star gazing event
Emily is observing at the MMT, starting from the Feb 15th

General Meeting Minutes - 1/29/09

Space Business talked about a new college within the school that they are trying to set up for new space companies and that they had a presentation today, Thursday Jan 29, at 6:30pm
UASEDS is going to tour the Mirror Lab next Friday (Feb 6) at 4 pm
Members that are interested in going are to meet in front of lab on the east side of stadium
Next UASEDS meeting, there might be a guest speaker to talk to us about LST
The rockoon project meets on Sunday at 2 pm in SEDS office and members are to contact Matt if they are interested
The SEDS National Conference, Space Vision, meets on Sunday at noon in the SEDS office and memebers are to contact Kyle if they are interested in helping with the organization
Rock On is a NASA rockery workshop and Space Grant is willing to fund about three SEDS members to attend
The Rock On is in late June and it is a week long
There is a place on www.seds.org that allows SEDS members to place their resumes for space companies to look at
Someone from the engineering department will come to talk to the UASEDS about writing resumes in one of the meetings
UASEDS has volunteered to help film podcast for a National SEDS project, volunteers and cameras are needed
The New Mexico trip will take place the weekend of April 4th
The trip is to mainly go to the Trinity site, but other locations are possible as well
Personal vehicles will be taken on the New Mexico trip
There is an Engineering Club fair on Feb 16th from 10 am to 3 pm, anyone that is interested in helping out is to contact Triana with times that they are able to help out
The next Machine shop class will take place Thursday nights, contact Kyle if you are interested in taking the class
Maria Schuchardt is the person that the head of the space imagery lab and she is looking for SEDS members that are interested in working for her, the pay is $7 an hour, 10 hours a week

Those who wish/need to pay dues are to contact an officer or Pye Pye, for the rest of the semester, the dues are $10
Space Access is a space conference in Phoenix that's being held on Apr 2 through Apr 4
A rocket launch will take place in Phoenix for a duration of 3 day of launch next month, if members are interested in attending, contact Kevin
There will be a trip to the LBT sometime in April
Mike request that files on SEDS computers be removed before Tuesday since he is planning on working on them to make them better

Two possible speakers for two future meetings are Pinto, maybe next week, and Angel
The Mirror Lab tour is a sure thing

General Meeting Minutes - 1/22/09

UASEDS members and officers introduced each other
The UASEDS telescope needs repairs, so all members that are interested in repairing the telescope are to talk to an officer about the meeting times for such activities
There will be a meeting for writing a telescope manual and a method of allowing memebers to be authorize to use the telescope
There will be an email send out about a group picture around the UASEDS telescope next week
The trebuchet competition is officially dead since there wasn't enough interest in UASEDS club
The meeting time for the rockoon competition is on Sunday at 2 pm in the UASEDS office throughout the year
UASEDS members are encouraged to attend if interested
There is a Southern Airzona Rocket Launch this Saturday Jan 24th
UASEDS members are attending this rocket launch, contact Kevin if you are interested
UASEDS is able to have a Mirror lab tour on Feb 6th at either 3 or 4 pm (20 people max per group)
UASEDS will have a LBT tour on a saturday during the semester (15 members are interested)
UASEDS will take a trip to the Trinity site and possibly VLA around Apr 4th (16 members are interested)
The UA SEDS Space Vision 2009 planning committee have meetings on Sunday at noon
Members are encouraged to attend meetings if interested in helping out with the planning and managing the conference
Space Vision is the National SEDS conference
There is a new link on the UASEDS website called Opportunities that will have upcoming internships, conferences and such things
There is an amateur astronomer event in Arizona City around late March
The event is to look for Mizar (sp) objects (5 members that are interested in staying the whole time; 3 members that are interested in staying part of the time)
There are a lot of space companies that are offering internships that will be posted in Opportunities page
There is a ISU summer session scholarship that the deadline is Jan 30th that information will be posted in the Opportunities page
UASEDS is looking for faculty, students and staffs to present their research or field of study to our members
If members have any suggestions on whom they would like to see present, please contact one of the officers with contact information for that person
The General UA spring club fair is Jan 28th from 10am-2pm and the Engineering spring club fair is Feb 16th from 10am-3pm
Members are asked to contact Triana with times that they are able and are willing to help
One of the fundraisers this semester is to raffle off an iPod
UASEDS T-shirts will be made for members to buy
Memebers can donate used textbooks to the SEDS library
Please have the donated textbooks be related to space or computers
Textbooks that are used for astronomy, physics, and engineering courses are highly welcomed
Kyle gave a presentation on the current space related topics
There is a UASEDS Game Night tomorrow night at 7 pm in the Steward Observatory

Officer Meeting Minutes - 10/30/08

There will be three rooms reserved for the hotel
There will be air mattresses for the hotel usage
Car arrangements is such that the drivers can pick their co-driver
We're going to bring a telescope to the National Conference
We are going to rent a van to transport the telescope
We will rent the van from Motorpool
Kelsey Norton is a basic member (5 yes; 0 no; 0 neutral)
There is a telescope event at a middle school on Nov 18th from 6:30-8:30
The conference proposal meeting is at 11 am on Saturday
Kyle will look into rotating the food in the snack store
Platforms for the National Office due date is on Nov 7th
Elections will be held Sunday of the Conference

General Meeting Minutes - 10/23/08

Pye Pye was elected as the Treasurer
UA SEDS is aiding in the Halloween event on Oct 30-31
An email will be sent out to those that said they would help out
At the event, UA SEDS will operate their telescope and make bottle rockets
UA SEDS will now meet weekly (14 yes; 0 no; 0 neutral)
UA SEDS members that are interested in participating for the trebuchet competition, there will be a meeting next week in the SEDS office
The trebuchet competition is going to take place in either January or February
The sections that were changed in the constitution are: Non-members section, Basic members section, Full members section, and Officers
The changes to the constitution will be voted next week
A few members are holding a proposal meeting to hold the next SEDS National Conference in Tucson
The next meeting is Sunday at three in the SEDS office
Space Vision attendees should announce to Kevin their money situation or pay for the trip by the end of today
There is a plan to leave Wednesday after classes to go to Johnson Space Center
Attendees need to give their SID to Kyle for the Dean Excuses

Officer Meeting Minutes - 10/16/08

Amy is going to be the election official for the election
Kyle and Triana are going to be responsible for the telescope for the Wednesday event
There is a proposal writing committee on Sunday at noon for holding SEDS National conference
The website is nearly updated
For people that are going to Space Vision, they need to either pay for it or let Kevin know of their fianecial status
People that are going to Space Vision will have to decide how the cars are going to be traveling and side stops
Kevin will talk to someone for a tour of the Mirror Lab
H+ is interested in partipating in the competition
Once a week meetings will be voted on at the next general meeting
There will be an H+ joint meeting with SEDS in a November meeting

General Meeting Minutes - 10/09/08

15 SEDS members are going to Kitt Peak and about 4 cars going
Everyone is going to bring their own lunch
Members are going to meet at the SEDS office at 10:30am on Saturday
3 Hotels are covered for Space Vision (Nov 14th - Nov 16th)
Members are asked to pay $30 for the trip
Personal cars are being taken to Space Vision
Members are asked to pay for the trip by the next meeting
UA SEDS are going to put a proposal for the next National Conference
SEDS National elections are at the conference
Flaudro is holding an event on Oct 30-31 for Halloween at 6-9 pm
SEDS will bring out the telescope for the event and have air bottle rockets
There will be a manual for the telescope for others to know how to work it
There will be a certifcation for the telescope later for those that are interested
On Monday, Frank Borman is going to be speaking in the AME building at 4 pm
SEDS will be asked H+ to particate in a trebucht contest since Astronomy club wasn't interested
Kyle gives a powerpoint presentation about the updates for space development and exploration
There will be a Treasurer election at the next General Meeting
Members that are interested should email Kyle by next week

Officer Meeting Minutes - 10/2/08

Mike will update the content of the website
We will not be painting the office
The competition with the Astronomy club has high interest with the Astronomy club members
Limits on material and cost (about $100 or $200) not including weights
The competition will be on the 13th of December
Goals for the competition: accuracy, distance, power or combination
The location for the competition will be announced
UA SEDS will run the competition
The projectile that can be used will be announced
Mike will right up some rules for the competition
UA SEDS is going to go to Space Vision
Members might be getting a free dinner at Space Vision
The room is right now $85 per night
Kyle will book three rooms for three nights
There are three personal cars that are probably going to be taken to Space Vision
We're not going to go with motorpool since it cost too much
Total cost for the trip is $1700
There is a physics event for Halloween before the weekend before and the weekend of
SEDS will be part of the event on the Thursday and Friday of Halloween
Looking for outreach in: Soronan Science Academy, School for the Deaf and Blind, and others
To give a powerpoint presentation for our outreach of how the development and exploration of space is coming about
We will go to Kitt Peak in nine days and will have a guided tour
Kevin will be setting up the tour
Non members will be charged $5, members get in free
Covering for the telescope and the second mirror will be made soon
The weights on the telescope need to be taken off or somehow arranged in such a way that we could add or substract the weights
A project could be a binocular telescope
UA SEDS would need to write a proposal to obtain the mirrors for such a telescope
Kyle will give out information about new things in developing or exploring space
The machine shop class information was sent out through email

General Meeting Minutes - 9/25/08

UA SEDS Officers introduced themselves to the new members that were just put on the listserv
Kyle mentioned what Space Vision is about and where it's located
Josh gave a list of people that will be speaking at Space Vision
On a head count, there was a high interest in going to Space Vision
Two people were willing to take there personal vehicles to Space Vision
SEDS members would probably need to pay $30 for the trip
If members are interested in the dinner bouquet, the members have to fund it for themselves
Other trips that are being considered: Colossal Cave, Kitt Peak, Mirror Lab, LBT, MMT, Titian Missile Museum
An email, or next meeting, will be send to members about the dates for these smaller trips
Most projects are on the East Coast and therefore Kyle is looking for competition on the West Coast
Competitions in consideration are: Mars Society's rover competition; Cansat competition; building competition with the other clubs; rocket project
Members are more than welcome to suggest other project that we could appreciate in
There are still finishing touches to the telescope that need to be done
The finishing up meeting for the telescope will happen Saturday at noon in the SEDS Office
The telescope will be brought out on Saturday night after the meeting
The food store locations were announced
Out-reaching events are being looked into for this semester
Members that are interested in going into the Machine shop class need to contact Kyle so he can send the list to the person in charge of organizing the Machine shop
Robert gave an update about what had occurred at the Council of Chapters in the National SEDS

Officer Meeting Minutes - 9/18/08

Officers had changed some of their office hours
Officers looked at the trip cost for the Space Vision
Once all the names are on the listserv, Kyle was going to inform of members of painting the telescope this Saturday at noon
Voting: Paint for the telescope, material for a curtain, and others for the telescope (6 yes, 0 no)
UA SEDS will plan on Oct 11th or 12th for a trip possibly to Mt Lemmon
The weekend of Oct 27th is a good time for a Star Party
Officers will look for a truck within the membership for the transportation
UA SEDS will not giving money to the curator of some organization

Members of UA SEDS paid their dues to Amy so they could vote
National Representative for UA SEDS candidates are: Max Justice, Robert Koven, and Brian Rule
A short question and answer period after the candidates introduced themselves

Percentage Night at Pizza Hut will announce
UA SEDS logo has been voted on
Space Vision:
Who wants to go: about 10 people
Still looking into projects for the year
Kyle will provide a list of projects next meeting
The UA SEDS telescope needs to be improved
If anyone is interested in helping with fixing the telescope, email one of the officers so a meeting can be announced
The Engineering Club fair was announced and members signed themselves
Kyle passed around the sign up sheet

Officer Meeting Minutes - 9/4/08

SEDS National wants us submit a SEDS National Survey
Kyle filled out the survey for UA SEDS
UA SEDS has three people running for UA SEDS National Representative
Kyle has requested that Amy go to the bank once a week since he is refilling the Snack Store
Percentage Night at Pizza Hut is a possible fundraiser
Kyle has asked about the Space Elevator, but they do not know if they are going to continue that this year
National Dues are due soon
Kevin is looking for the information about checks from Wells Fargo
$2500 and $2000 are the amounts that Space Grant is giving us
Kyle will finalize the officer hours once we have another officer
UA SEDS has enough money to possibly go to Space Vision

General Meeting Minutes - 8/28/08

Officers introduced themselves
Mike announced that we need a National Representative in the National SEDS
Josh explained National SEDS to the new members
Members were given the free pizza
Josh announced that National SEDS is looking for people to fill in positions on the National level
Kyle showed the new UA SEDS logo
The Officer Hours and the SEDS Office were let known to the members
The General Meeting time is on Thursday at 4
Kyle asked the general members to email Kyle to let him know if they are interested in running for the position
Game night on Friday and bringing out the Telescope
National wants to have general members to have an account with the National website for job opportunities
Two or One large trips for the year
National SEDS Conference is one of the large trip
Small Trips: MMT and LBT, Titan Missile, PIMA Air and Space
Details will be sent through the listserv when the dates become known
Dues are $10 for the semester or $15 for the year
One project would be the Space Elevator
Micro-Gravity, Lunar Rover, Low-Earth Orbit satellite
Other members have another project should feel free to offer the project
Mike went over the rules for the computers in the office
Mike is going to update the UA SEDS website and asks for member to let him know what they want to be placed on the website
If members know a department that is getting rid of their computers, let an officer know so we can inqiure those computers
Triana announced that there will be an Engineer Club Fair and volunteers are needed
There will be Machine shop class if there is an interest
